May has officially arrived, which means it’s time to start planning some summer fun with the family. Henry county has plenty of exciting events for this year, including the 11th Annual Peach Stand Road Race and the seasonal Locust Grove Farmer’s Market.

Beginning at the historic Gardner Farm Peach Stand, the Peach Stand Road Race will take place on May 27 at 8:00 a.m. at 61 Jackson Street Locust Grove, GA. This event has become an annual tradition as runners “reach for the peach” throughout scenic areas of the city of Locust Grove. The top male and female participants will receive an award for their achievements. Tickets are available until the day of the race, so register online or via paper registration. A more extended summer event is the Locust Grove Farmer’s Market, open every Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. from June 3 to August 26. Featuring a plethora of fresh vegetables, all of the produce and agricultural products sold at the Locust Grove Farmer’s Market are grown and developed locally in the Henry County area.
